Kurt Donald Cobain Kurt was born on February 20 1967 in Hoquiam. Not too long after Kurt moved to Aberdeen. His mother Wendy was a cocktail waitress and his father Donald was a mechanic. Kurt had one younger sister named Kimberly. As a child, Kurt had an imaginary friend named Boda the ball of energy. When he was five his aunt tried to teach him how to play a plastic guitar and his uUncle Chuck recorded him singing as well. He had a happy childhood although he seemed to be constantly tense and uneasy. When Kurt was six he ws diagnosed as hyperactive. He was perscribed a drug, Ritalin which was to control his hyperactivity yet this drug kept him awake at night. As a result Kurt was perscribed another drug which was to help him sleep at night. This introduction to drugs was the beginning of his frequent drug use and abuse. When Kurt was seven his parents separated and got a divorce. Kurt then moved around from one relative to the next and never really had a permanent home. As a result of this trauma Kurt became more and more reserved and antisocial. He also began to feel hatred for humans in general. He finally moved back home to his mother once she got re-married. Kurts feeling of uneasiness slowly deminished. Since a young age Kurt's musical talents were more and more present. At the age of 14 Kurt got his first guitar. Kurt was inspired by a band called The Melvins (a band admired by all Nirvana members) to learn guitar and to make music. It was through The Melvins that Kurt and Krist (Chris back then) met. When Kurt was still in high school, his mother re-married again. It was around this time of his life that Kurt was introduced to punk rock. A few weeks before Kurt graduated at 18, he decided to drop out of school. After dropping out, Kurt moved from one friend's place to another's. He also moved through a number of jobs. Kurt auditioned to be the guitarist of The Melvins, yet, was nervous at his audition and did not succeed. Kurt formed a band called Fecal Matter through which Krist and he met again (after Krist heard a demo tape). Shortly after, the band split up. Kurt and Krist then decided to form a band. Bob McFadden was their first drummer, then left after a month. Kurt and Krist then went their own ways for a while; Kurt joining a number of other bands in the process. Finally, Kurt and Krist met up again and got a drumemr called Aaron Buckhard. Thus was the beginning of one of the greatest rock bands in history...
