Sent in by unwritten_law_chik. I met Scott in Glamis, California on New Years. He was with a few friends and we partied together. It was pretty awesome. No one believes me but oh well, LOL...I know what really happened and it kicked ass. Keep it real-Jonnie
well i was at a sign-in for ul and was very excited being the first time i
have ever got to meet them (except scott becoz i met him the night b4 at the
gig i went to). so acting like a complete fool i just kept blubbing on to
scott bout everything and everything. till finally he got a word in and said
that he had to go and that i should come along becoz theyre were going to a
sound check n that was only acouple of stores up the road. thnkin this was
to good to pass up i decided to go. after playing some football with rob and
steve i go sit down with wade and scott and chatted with them for a while.
till we came to the subject of age and scott kept insistin he was only 19 i
say it was my birthday tomorrow scott asks for my nuimber and says hell call
me to wish me a happy birthday. being totally inlove with scott i wrote it
down faster then i ever have. then next day comes and i yell at anyone in my
house trying to use or answer the phone. midday comes n goes n i think that
scott is not going to call. practically crying i hear the phone ring at
1:17pm and scott is on the other line. now the tears r tears of joy. i speak
to scott for a good 10 mins until he gets the hole band to sing happy
birthday into the phone. finally scott says hes calling from his mobile and
says it will cost him a fortune so he goesn. and that was the best phone
call i ever got and ever since them scott has remembered me everytime i have
met them since... sent in by Unknown.
Sent in by ulgirl7.I went to see UL at Jannus Landing in St. Pete and they were opening for Sum 41, so there was a huge line outside of the venue. I didn't feel like standing there, so me and my friend went and walked around for a little bit. We saw the buses and he was like "Ohh I bet that is UL's bus" or something like that to tease me and I was just like, "Yeah , whatever" because I didn't really think it was. And then, as we were standing on the side walk across the street from the bus, Scott walked out ! I didn't want to miss the opportunity, so I said, "Scott!" And he looked at me and was like "Hey, what's up!" And I was like "Can I get a picture with you?" And he said yeah (Click hereto see the picture.)and in the process of walking across the street, I almost got hit by a car ! But that's ok.. so then I was just talking to him and I told him that I met him at Warped Tour in 2000 too and then after we talked for a little bit, he said he had to go eat dinner. So, then later on when we were in the show, I was at their merch booth, and their main merch guy's name is Red, or Jack, and apparently, he is Scott's best friend. And I ended up hanging out with him while the opening band played. Then, before UL started getting ready to go on stage, I asked Scott if I could take pictures of them while they were playing and he was completely nice about it and he said that he would *escort* me on stage with him. And then I asked him how his kids were doing and everything and he pulled out his wallet and showed me the pictures of them in it. They are the cutest kids ! So then, I got to stand on stage with them while they were playing and it was so awesome. After the show, I went to Wendys with Red. He is really awesome. Then, we came back and went on the bus and I just sat and talked with Scott for about 45 minutes. He is really one of the nicest people I have ever met. Then, around 1 we decided that it was time to go, so he walked us off the bus and we said bye and Scott kissed me on the cheek!
Sent in by evil_vegetable@hotmail.com On the 17th of November, 2001, I fulfilled my 3-year long dream - to meet Unwritten Law. It was a sunny-ish day, and I had just spent the morning cleaning my parents cars for $30, so I could buy "ELVA". My dad drove me and my boyfriend at the time to George St. in the city. We walked to Utopia Records, and joined the line stretching around the store. UL were supposed to arrive at 1.00pm, but, in true rock star fashion, were half an hour late. Although this was disappointing (dad was going to pick us up at 3), THEY WALKED STRAIGHT PAST ME on their way to the desk, where they were going to sign copies of 'Elva', and whatever else you may have brought along. I got two sick photos of scott and pk (I only had a disposable-wind after shot- camera, thus not allowing me to photograph all members of the band). I spent the next 2 and a bit hours talking to my bf and these 2 people that I met at Utopia (Alison and Scott). After hours of waiting, talking UL, and singing along to the background music [UL and SoaD], i met the band!!! My younger sister had written a letter that morning, telling them how much they rock, and offering to buy scott a new shirt (due to the unfortunate accident at channel [v] 2 days earlier: "IT FUCKIN MELTED!!!"). My sister's 10 - Hows that for a fan?! So anyway, I got 'Elva', an Elva promo sticker and poster, and a ticket from their Newtown show signed (Thanx for the tix alison). I swear, that was the best fucking day of my life.
Sent in by csimmo I live in Sydney Australia and Ive been a fan since 98 and was stoked to hear that UL were once again heading Down Under. As you can imagine i was blown away when i found out that my brothers band, The Mad Dash, would be opening for them at the Sydney Metro show! I was doing the merch (selling t-shirts ect) for The Mad Dash and i also had an AAA pass so i could go backstage as i pleased. I got to hear UL sound check, which is always a thrill of mine to watch, (but its so hard not to cheer at the end.. hahaha). So while the middle band played i stayed at the merch desk and until just before UL came on stage, i walked to the side curtain where the backstage access door is, with a friend and we were told that we could watch the show from side stage if we wanted.. .well did we want!! We picked the opposite side to were they walked on, effectively meaning we would have to stay there the whole show, but that suited me fine. My friend and I walked across stage while the curtain was drawn and the crowd was chaning UL, UL, UL, i did a rock star pose just for the fuck of it (hehe) and we stood to the side. It was then i wished i had my camera. We stood near the mixing desk and had a perfect view of the stage and of most of the crowd too. I saw some friends of mine stuck right up against the barrier but having a great time, while i danced around within a few feet of Rob... it was the best night of my life. During the set, Scott came off stage to my side, which had 4 ppl and a mixing desk in not much room, while the band played a long instrumental section. Scott said 'hey' to us and lit a cigarette that the sound dude gave to him. He saw a chair and the back of the little space and went to sit down and fell flat on his ass! He was pissing himself laughing, his ciggy fell out and he ran back onstage laughing. I grabbed the cigarette, gave my friend a puff coz i dont smoke, then she put it out and i kept it for memorabilia. The band played on and every so often Scott would look our way and just smile at the sound guy, obviously still thinking about the chair incident!! They also played Superman early in the set which Scott proceeded to forget the words too, Rob and Steve were killing themselves laughing because they always claim to fuck that song up coz they 'never play it'. So, the curtain closed and the band went off the other side of stage towards the band room... we stayed put, the sound guy told us they were doing encore... then the crowd got going, yelling UL, UL again. The band stood in a huddle on the opposite side, deciding what to play for encore. They ended up playing 2 more songs then heading to the band room to cool down. As the roadie came onstage i grabbed a drumstick off Wade and a setlist from Rob's side and danced around behind the curtain some more...From there i decided not to go to the band room straight away, i didnt want to be in the way, so i returned to the merch table, just in a daze. I'd just watched the band that changed my life from on stage. I helped my brother load out his gear from the Metro and while we were waiting UL did the same thing. Its good to see them helping with the gear as much as their crew. Pat was cool, talking to us for a bit, but he and some roadies decided to head into Kings Cross and go play some pool so they left. Scott, Wade and others had already left, going to the Iguana Bar, a known rock star hang out in Sydney. I headed home that night just wondering what could beat the night i'd just had.... and 3 months later, im still wondering -- nothing has come close. At this point id like to thank my great friends in The Mad Dash for allowing such a dream to become reality.
Well, I went to X-Fest this year and was lucky enough to stay with a good friend of Russos. I got to watch from backstage and then hand out and meet them all, well except for Steve cause he left. Then we drove back to the house I was staying at partied with them. I got to hang with Airin from SC and Trik Turner, Wade, Rob, and his wife. It was pretty cool and I got some really sick pictures. Wade told me some really funny shit while walking to the 7-11 for some beer. So, the next morning we were invited to Scotts for Niko and Tres birthday party. Haha, who would pass that up...a chance to hang at Russos own house. Damn. We got there and I was able to talk to his whole damn family..which is huge by the way. He was the coolest and was like uh we usually don't do this for fans but make yourself at home. Get drunk..have fun. So we basically hung till about 7 in the morning. He just basically answered questions and sang for me. If you want to see pics I can have Travis post some or you can see them in the UL forum..but you have all probably seen them tons of times anyways. Russo was really cool and gave me a zero jacket and a wristband...the best time of my life.

I've met Unwritten Law a few times but this last time had to be the most interesting.
My friend and I drove all the way from California to Las Vegas just to see them at O.B.C. 5. Well after talking to the boys and taking pictures with them, we got up in front to see them perform. Everything was going great through the first song (Up All Night). Scott even pointed and smiled at me. :) Well during Teenage Suicide people started getting a little out of control. This chick behind me kept trying to get in front of me but I wouldn't let her. I kinda turned my head to the side and BAM!!! She hits me in the face, and my nose starts bleeding. I have to get out of the crowd. I'm super pissed by this point. I end up having to go to the emergency van and spending most of the show in there. Well when I finally get out and they are singing Lonesome. I end up being in an area where noone else without permission is supposed to be. At the end of Lonesome Scott looked over at me and mouthed the words "Are you okay?" I swear I almost melted. After the show I ended up talking to Wade and he told me he liked my shirt (a home mad ul shirt). I ended up with one of his drumsticks and very happy. Seeing the look on that girls face when Scott asked me if I was okay was worth it all. Sent in by Jeanine.
It was the second UL show i'd ever seen last year at the cotton club in ATL. It's was the best UL show i'd seen they played all the old and rare songs it was great after the show the worker there was kickin peeps out i pleaded with him to let me stay a lil while long incase any UL member came out. Than Rob came out and i got him to sign some stuff and i told him about all the rare UL cd's i got and how i was obbsesed with them. He let me backstage to meet the rest of the guys. Scott gave me a beer and i chilled with them like 30 mins it was soo great they were all nice. I got all the autographs and a pick from rob. Sent in by ME!!! Travis.
Well me and 4 of my friends went to see UL at the Freebie Weebie in
Clearwater, Florida on April 6, 2002 (i still have the arm band on!).
I had already seen them once with Sugarcult in Orlando, and my friend
Roxanne had seen them at a record signing in New Jersey. But everyone
else was UL virgins. We were in FRONT ROW! When they came on we were
going nutz! I was singing every word to every song (I wish I could
say the same for my friends), and having a blast. We had all brought
cameras with us and Roxanne, Crystal, Michelle, and myself had used
all of our pictures up. I told my friend Stephanie to save one
picture just incase. Our mission was to meet Scott. Michelle actually
got to go up on stage and dance during "Cailin". When the show was
over we started making our way to the backstage entrance where we ran
into 2 guys from Something Corporate. We got their autographs and
then asked Clutch (the bassist) if he could get us backstage. He said
he wasn't allowed but we could try to make a run for it, but to be
careful. He turned around to walk backstage and we just sort of
followed him in, keeping our distance so he didn't quite know what we
were doing. When we got back there we were pacing back and forth to
find Scott, or anyone from UL for that matter. All of the sudden
Scott came walking over to us. We freaked out just a little, but he
was super nice. He told me that he noticed me the most cuz of my kewl
wrist bands! Then we all got our pic taken with him! I sure am glad I
told Stephanie to save that last picture! sent in by Unknown.
On January 25th 2002, me, my friend, and her boyfriend drove to San Diego to go to an Unwritten Law signing. We were running kind of late (It started at 3:00 p.m. and we left my house at 1:30 p.m.). While in line some guy tells all of us that we need to hurry up and have the band sign one thing and get out. So its finally its our turn to go have them sign stuff. I get up to Scott to have him sign a picture from the previous time I met him, and he tells me that I look familiar. I'm getting ready to take a picture with him, and the same guy from earlier is yelling at me to hurry up. My friend was right behind me and he was yelling at her too to hurry up. The only person we got to take pictures with was Scott, so we were pretty pissed. Almost in tears me and my firend go back to the car. When we get back to the car we see Wade and P.K. getting into a white van. We drive over there, and run up to the van. We were like yelling at them that some jerk made us hurry and we drove 2 hours to see them, and it was just crazy. Finally Wade got us to calm down. We asked them if we could get a picture with them and they said of course. So we got to talk to them and take picures. Which made us in a much better mood. The whole trip was now worth it!
